Something I didn’t write down is how I came up with the name for this website—Crabaghast! The likeliest scenario is that I liked the way it felt in my mouth and ears, and went with it. It still feels right.
What you’ll find here are my own observations, reflections, and curiosities, frequently paired with observations, reflections, and curiosities that aren’t my own.
Fr instance, the featured photograph on this page was taken several years ago on November 29, 2007, at a Dinosaur Jr. show, with a Pentax DSLR that had a very loud shutter—but not louder than J. Mascis’ Marshall stacks. If memory serves, I first saw Dinosaur Jr. perform well over twenty years ago, and several times in the interim.
Anyway, I like the photo, the show was great, and hopefully this experiment will help me remember some stuff.
